This "outdoor classroom" located 15 minutes from Four Oaks, I-95, Exit 90, hosts several events open to the public each year.  This educational event announcments may be found on their website, www.howellwoods.org.  The biggest event by far, is the annual Howell Woodstock event held in November each year.

Howell Woodstock! celebrates the ecological, recreational, and scenic features unique to Howell Woods.  There are guided nature hikes, hayrides to the river and shorter mule-drawn rides, recreational activities, food, educational vendors, and fun for the whole family.  FREE
