The Bentonville Battlefield State Historic Site hosts event several times a year offering visitors learning experiences through living history programs. Check listings often to see what's happening at this popular historic site in Four Oaks.
March - Bentonville Battlefield Anniversary Event Held the third weekend in March to coincide with the dates of the battle that was fought March 19-21, 1865, the site has special living history programs and every five years a large reeactment of the battle. The next large reenactment will take place in March 2015 as the 150th Celebrations conclude in North Carolina.
May - Bentonville Confederate Memorial Day Held in May each year at the Harper House by the Bentonville UDC, a memorial ceremony with featured speakers and special programs.
June-August - Summer Living History Series Held several times a year, the historic site presents the Summer Living History Series, on the lives of Civil War soldiers and their families.
December - A Civil War Christmas Holiday Open House Held the first Saturday in December each year, the historic site has costumed interpreters decorate the kitchen with festive themed materials such as holly, magnolia, cotton stalks, fruit and popcorn just as families from the Civil War era.
